I have read some of your other threads and to be honest I feel a bit of a fraud joining this site. You all seem to be in worse situations than me and have been together many years, or are married, or with children etc and I'm struggling now! My boyfriend is doing his trade training and we have only been together for coming up for 3 years and I have never had to experience him being posted away and this has been hard enough. However he did manage to strech his stay at Halton (into about 32 weeks due to a couple of shoulder dislocations!!) and I'm currently away in Europe on my year abroad.
I don't know really what I'm expecting from joining this site (I guess a bit of real insight as to what it is really like being a WAG and coping with your OH going away and stuff, at the moment I don't think I'm doing a very good job of getting to grips with it all!). Judging by other comments on here, it takes some getting used to but it is possible! It's strange because apart from my boyfriend, I don't really have any other connection with the RAF, so don't really have anybody to talk to about what it is really like. So thought you guys might be able to help! At the moment I just miss him like hell and can't wait to get my year abroad over and done with! x

Welcome to wags hun!! dont feel like a fraud coming on here, everyone on here are in different situations, but we all can relate to how each other is feeling and we're here to support each other. The girls on here are amazing. I'm sorry to hear you're struggling hun. It does take a bit of getting used to, but the girls on here are great for giving you advice on how to get through it and they really do give you a morale boost when you feel down. I dont have any other connections to the army apart from my oh and this site, i've learnt a lot from here. Hope you chat to you soon xx

we are all in different siuations here and your feelings are as valid as anyones, so keep posting and joining in the fun! my OH is RAF too, not been with him that long and he's in Iraq, he's home next week though.

the tough times are easier when shared on here and the good times are great to brag about, we want to hear it all!!!
