Wow, what a fantastic site, it's so reassuring to know that I am not the only one who is feeling blue at the departure of my lovely man. He is in two para and left thursday evening. The worst thing about it was the emotional build up and the saying goodbye with lots of tears. This is the first time he has gone operational in the three years we have been together and I don't think anything can prepare you for it. On a positive note, I am so proud of him. It takes balls to do what our guys do. Chins up girls, they will be back before you know it xxxxxxx
Hi hun, welcome to wags. Considering this is your first tour with him, you seem to be coping well. My oh has been on tour a couple of times but we have our first 6 month one together coming up in December. He's done loads before but not since we've been together. But i'm confident i can get through it coz of the ladies on here, they are a godsend. xxx

Well my fella is in Iraq at the mo, hes completed 5 months of a 7 month tour so far, so proud of him... As for when they first go away, it sucks but trust me its gets more bareable so hang in there, i was a mess wen Matt first went away but then u get into a routine and time flys... i only have 8 weeks left and his tour is all done..

Hi, I love this site. Has totally cheered me up today!!!!! Well, where do I start? I am 28, live in Colchester, been with man for three years. He actually left the army when I first met him so this is his first tour since he re-joined a year ago. He is my soul mate and we live together so am missing him terribly, not the mess he makes though, lol! Thankfully I have quite a demanding job which keeps me busy, I represent criminals for a living! Don't have any kids but have recently started getting broody so may feel the urge to create a little paratrooper in the future! Saying goodbye was the hardest thing I have ever done, but it is getting easier each day.

When did you oh leave? Hope your doing ok and settling down a bit. My oh has been away for just over 3 weeks now and I've calmed down a bit.

hey hun I'm kate my husband has recently returned from his 6 month tour in afghan so I know how your feeling huni as do so many of the girls on here, everyones here for each other and I dont know how I would have got thu martyns tour if it wasnt for the girls on here! No I don't live on base. We have an apartment in the town centre. Bloody expensive, would be bettter off living on the pads.
