R bless. God ye it wouldnt be normal not to be scared. I moved to germany a yr n haf ago and i didnt know anybody and had nothing all ****ty army furniture. I think people that have got kids make friends so much more easily than people that havnt! Thats where you meet new friends. Taking the kids to school, creche and to the play areas and that. All i can say is dont expect people to go out there way to talk to you. You have to make a big effort, well i did anyway! All you need to do is make one friend then they intruduce you to everyone they know. It took me a while to get settled in but im fine now. Really hope everything goes well as im sure it will. Just think of it as an exiting chapter of your life your going to meet new good friends and experience somewhere different. Could be worse you could be stuck in the same old place for the rest of your life, never seeing anything of the world! Its hard when the lads go away but at the end of the day youv still got your old friends and family no matter how far away they are. I was always scared of missing out on things but everytime i speak to my mates its just the same old and when i go home its like iv never been away xx love jo xx
