Hey Karis

Nice to meet you! Where abouts in Edinburgh are you? I am a Glasgow girl but when I lived in Carlisle before we moved here to Spain I used to have to travel up to Edinburgh regularly to take training courses. I was a manager for Whitbreads - Costa Coffee, and we used to hold courses at the big Costa, forgot the name of the road just up a side street on a hill!! Just near the station. Loved Edniburgh - got mega drunk in TGI's one night don't really remember where we went after that I think it was back to the hotel. .....yeah it was!!! We used to stay at the Travel Inn!! Great all expenses paid nights in Edinburgh!!! It was fab!!

Bet you are looking forward to yer man coming home...;) Any plans to do anything? (Well, plans that you can tell me about...LOL :D ) Are you actually from Edinburgh? Who is your fella with?

hey anna

I think Edinburgh far more interesting if you have not lived here all your life, but I am lucky I suppose because its a nice city. Im born and bread Edinburghonian! Dont know how you feel about Glasgow, but I personally find Glasgow a far better night out/shopping trip and the people through in weegieland are mch more friendly than us!! I remember a few good nights years ago in rchaos!!! My god!! Plus if your lucky enough you bump into some of the football players, given they play the scottish premiership, but still I always get star struck!

I'm really looking forward to r n r, think we're both feeling the strain now, so it'll will be really nice to do the normal things, thats what I'm looking forward to, nothing special planned, we'll take it as it comes, although at the end of the tour Im lookin forward to being treated to a nice hot holiday somewhere, although he doesnt know this yet!!

My blokes with 2li and they're based in Edinburgh at the minute which is bonus!!

What takes you to Spain??
xx

LOL... There wiz me tryin' tae be diplomatic and no want tae say us Weegies are nicer;)

Defo agree with you that Glasgow is better fur the shops and a night out. I was lucky enough to go back there to live for the year that Glasgow was city of culture.....blimey whit a year that was (showing my age eh?). You could go into practically every restaurant 24/7 I remember eating a Ruby Murray at 6.30 one morning!! I used to work in Fouquets near Central Station and it was new then and THE place to be. Alli McCoist and Mark Walters and most of the Rangers Team used to come in there all the time. It was fab....I had to serve Alli one night - oh the hardship!! He was lovely. I have lived out of Glasgow more than I have in it but I am a true Weegie and proud of it!! My mate's nickname for me is Billy Connellette!! He he not sure if it on account of my beard....;)

When is R&R then? Are you going anywhere or just batoning down the hatches and chilling? That's brill that he is posted in Edinburgh - will he be there for a while?

I ended up in Spain cos of my hubbies work! He is in IT (he's hubby no2) and the company he worked for decided to relocate down here and they offered him the chance to move so we took it!! Totally love it - the language is a bugger to learn, everytime I think I've got it I crash and burn....all these verbs and rules!! It is good here in Spain. We pay a small amount more rent that we paid in the UK but we have a pool in the garden which is fab! I have two boys and they have a wicked lifestyle. It has been tough but no regrets at the moment. Except for maybe my career. I worked for Whitbreads and was offered promotion to area manager the day I handed in my notice...oops!! the people are lovely and although we don't live right on the coast (we live inland in a village) we are only 20 mins away from Marbella , Fuengirola and the beaches. I need to sit down on ma hubbies computer at home and stick up some fotos of the house and where we live. My first hubby was in the army - we were married for 11 years and were in Fally. That is where the idea for the website came from - I had always wanted to do it but didn't have the means. But now I am married to a programmer ....:p I did it!!

Which part of Edinburgh are you from?

Well Anna, judging by your reply, you havent even slightly lost yur accent!!

I was brought up early half of my life in Causeway Side, near the meddows, we moved over to South side to Cameron Toll when I was a bit bigger then ended up in Gilmerton, not sure how well you know Edinburgh, but now we got a flat near where Hibernian play, in Easter Road, down by Leith Links??

A swimming pool in your garden, god soundls like heaven!! I've kind of got an indoor swimming pool right now, discovered the biggest leak in the bathroom yesterday, total insurance job just not what you need 1 week away from rnr, looking like we might have to stay in a hotel, the whole floorboards needs replacing, new bathroom, possibly new kitchen and new flooring throughout. Plumber said we might even have to get the outside wall taken out to repair the pipe. The joys!!

Think your idea of setting up this site is fab, your doing a great job and was recommended to join by Sqizza.

Ali McCoist eh....my idol with a capital I!! Love love love him, met him when I was about 15 and have my beloved Rangers top signed by the one true love of my life, I'm a true Hun through and through!! Are you blue or Green?!?

My man is based here for another wee while yet. Which is good, Im a bit of a home bird you see. Life in spain sounds fab, and bet the Waynes love it!!

Talk soon xx

Hi Karis

I am a true Blue and Alli, like you is my hero! Know nothing about sport but sit glued to A Question of Sport just to see him. Find his bald spot quite endearing!!! You lucky sod having a shirt signed by him!! I had a kiss does that beat a shirt?

OMG that sounds awful about your flat!!! Still if you get a week in a nice hotel all expenses paid it might JUST be worth it! But I know what you mean it's the hassle and when you just want to be at home, alone that has to happen. Hope it's not too bad. I grew up across the road from Hamden, before we moved to Africa and then when mum and dad came back they bought in the same area. Was hell when I grew up and the Blues and Greens were playing cos that was when trouble was rife!!

The weather has been gorgeous today defo in the high 20's - i was sitting out on the terrace with the weans doing their homework at 5pm tonight...luverly!!! :p Sorry is it raining there?...LOL

Take care. xxxxxx
