Well my husband isnt in yet- he starts his basic training in 2wks 2day:eek: hes joining the rlc-hopefully driver! the girls on ere r great.....you will get so much support.....im officially addicted to it now:D so how long u been with ur oh? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:)
Ah ryt, mine has been in for almost 2 years, its horrible wen they 1st go in. i have been with him for nerli 2 years...wheres he doing his basic training?xx

Yeah my OH might be going to iraq next month for 6 months, he found out last week. hes on th reserves list so hopefully e wont have to go! but i doubt it!! x
Aw dont worry... tours arent nearly as bad as you think!! This tours gone so fast... doesnt even feel like hes been gone so long!!!
th longest he has been away is like 5 weeks and that was over a year ago in basic, so i dont reli no wat to expect xxx
I no, before Iraq the longest me n my fella had been apart was 8 weeks, then all of a sudden we had to spend 18 weeks apart... the worst part of tours is the goodbye and the build up, then it roughly takes a week or two to adjust, once ur into a routine... time flys.. I really thort it would be sooo hard but im almost at the finish line with my fella's tour... and lookin back its not been that bad.. You will notice how strong u become with these obstacles... Your relationship becomes even stronger too!! x x x
yeah, i said that to my oh, i said we'l realize how much we miss each other, and it'l give us a bit of a break xxx
The only thing i struggle with sometimes is the contact, like wen i just wana talk to him i cant... but you learn to deal with that!! youll both be fine!!!
How often do u get to speak/write to each other xxx
Well we can send each other e-blueys... they are sent to a printer in Iraq and delivered to the men.. thats within a day.I send loads of eblueys, and they are free to send and receive!!
Then you can send Blueys... which u write and are sent over, they get them within 2 weeks..
Then they can call, they get phone cards with 20mins free a week, but they can top up them if they wana chat more... My fella barely calls now, as hes always busy, but its nice wen he does.
Oooh and then they can go on the internet too, we chat loads on msn and he sends emails, i send emails to him everyday!!
And i also send him parcels, i send one a week, but you can send as many as you want, they keep them smiling over there, as they need loads of morale!!!

Is postage expensive on the parcels?
Lyndsey-- depends on where ur sendin parcels to... so operational tours etc Iraq, afghan are free as long as they are 2kg's or under
Kerrie-- Send him anythin.. toiletries, dvds, cds, food--sweets, crisps, cakes etc.. anythin to make him smile!!

Yeah it is great, the army can't be THAT bad after all. Even though sometimes it feels im engaged to th army lol xcxx
