hi im new my boyfriend has just passed his interview and his phsycometric tests and now waiting for his fitness and medical. im heartbroken we have been together for two years and never spent more than two days apart i can't bear the thought of not seeing him im looking for some advice and support which is why im here so hello to you brave girls hope to hear bk soon xx

yeah, its hard for sure when you think about him going away, and to be honest, it doesnt get any easier!!! although people may say it will! but places like this are great for help and advice or even for blowing off some steam!!! my other half is away at the moment and it is hard, but i am lucky in that he handed his notice in a couple of months ago so is only in the navy until feb 09 now so we are counting down until he is home for good!!! :D
just keep in mind that no matter how hard it is for us, it is just as hard for them, if not harder!! at least we know that they are stuck on a boat somewhere in the middle of the sea, with a load of smelly men lol but we are home and as far as they know, could be doing anything at all, which must cause them worries!! not that we do of course!! we spend more time in places like this feeling gloomy and helping each other get through it!!!
you will end up like the rest of us, so damn proud of our guys and the amazing job they are doing!! and remember, we may miss them like hell when they are away, but it sure is amazing when they are home again!!!! xx
hi ladies thanx for your replies his fitness test is on the 7th may so im very worried. i just love him so much i never imagined i would have to deal with this i always inagined me and him married living together children and waking up to him every morning xx

Must be hard, when I met my oh he had already been in the Navy 5 1/2 years, he loves his job, and it suits him down to the ground. So in a way I'm happy that he's happy, I'm obviously not happy when he's away, but I understood that when we got together and made a decision to see it through.
It must be hard when your oh joins when you've been together a while, bet you feel like everything's been turned upside down, but him being away from you will make him appreciate you that much more, and the time you do spend together when he's home will be fantastic :) Trust me ;)

:) Hi. My husband in navy reserve and has been having two weeks away, but recently mobilised to go to Afghanistan so my heart goes out to you, hun ass I know exactly how you feel.
My sister and I saw him off at Birmingham yesterday, he's in Portsmouth for four months and then goes out.
We are all here for you and can help each other - the chat room a good place to let off steam, cry and talk things through.

Hello Wilsmylove, My boyfriend also joined the Navy.
Prior to him joining up we lived and worked together. He was just starting the joining process when we started dating. He had an 18 months wait for the next intake for his trade so it was a big shock when Raleigh happened!
Now 4 years on we are married with an 8 month old baby boy. Its tough at times and like you in my ideal world we would be waking up next to each other every morning but it really makes us appreciate every day we have together.

My o/h is a Submariner in the Navy, we have been together 6 months and its my first forces relationship. He has been in the navy ten years so its his life so unfortunately I have to get used to it. Sometimes its a struggle but once you get used to it, its get a little easier with the support of good friends and the girls on here you will get through it.
My O/H is at sea and I havent heard off him in two weeks now and still got another two to go

my oh is in the navy too...was in it when we met so had to adjust and we manage to see each other most weekends and at the moment that works well for us! he is going away to afghan in aug and it will be the first time that he has been away whilst we have been together but the support you get on here is amazing and im sure that i will cope! pm me if ya wanna chat!
my wills got his medical tommorow does anybody actually know what they do in the medical do they let pepole in who have taken drugs do they do an anal search im just wondering what they actually do someone told me they do drug test on hair sample and if you have taken drugs in the last seven years they dont let ou in does any body know is this is true. any way very upset my boyfriend bin a rite arse latley and he keeps standing me up goin out wiv mates to get drunk not impressed and also my grandads funeral is tommorow and my will cnat go coz he has medical so tommorow is not a good day write bk girls xxxxxxxxxx
welcome to you newbies im Michelle an armywag been with hubbi nearly 8years, I met lee whilst he was already in army so its all ive known since been together i know it most be really hard been with someone then they join up! All i can say is that it will test your relationship to the max but if your strong you will get through everything that is thrown at you, just stay strong and stand by you men! And most of all make sure you talk and be honest with one another!Also Come on here and everyone will support you!
